International award winning conductor. Enjoys umpiring hockey as an England Hockey Umpire and making music matter across the UK.

Mark Smith
Studied piano and organ at Trinity College of Music, London and worked as an accompanist in London and the South East before moving to Cornwall in 2011. Mark’s interests aside from music are organic gardening, foraging, walking and reading.

Annie Smith
Joined 2016. Musician who loves singing in church and playing piano. A passion for gardening, cake making, medieval history and theology.

Anne Shaw
Invited to join at the beginning of Levowan in 2015. Happily retired after a career in banking , started singing at age 55 - the best thing anyone can do!
Love painting, in watercolour, and relaxing in the garden.

Mel Mehta
Joined in December 2021 one week before concert. Enjoys stabbing cloth 10000 times, working with Performers on vocal health & returning them to their passion following vocal challenges. Loves singing in beautiful venues.

Joined August 2016. Met and married husband Andy through their love of singing and had Hannah who pursues the same love for creating music professionally.
Kept busy as an HR Manager for an outstanding care company which cares for young individuals with complex physical and learning difficulties transitioning from childhood to young adults.

Sarah Unsworth-White
Joined in September 2024. Grew up in New Zealand but has spent the last 35 years in the UK, working as an anaesthetist in the NHS and raising a family. Recently retired and enjoying travelling, walking the dogs, skiing and singing!

Joined in January 2019. I am proud to be a domiciliary care worker, enabling people to remain independent in their own homes. I enjoy speaking Spanish and German, sampling good gin with friends and walking on Dartmoor with our two Springer Spaniels.

Jonathan Unsworth-White
Joined in September 2024. I am a keen singer and have been an occasional performer since schooldays. I have now retired from surgical practice which frees up time for singing with Levowan! I enjoy everything that the West Country has to offer, including sailing, hiking and cycling.

Rob Shepherd
Joined in 2017 and is a Devonian, a civil engineer by profession but with music being a major pastime including work as choir leader and orchestra member. Other interests include sailing a catamaran, skiing, gardening and organising an annual music festival in Tavistock.

Hugh Walkington
Joined in 2016 at the same time as Helen when Levowan 8 became Levowan12. Enjoys teaching French and playing golf. An enthusiastic traveller with a love for composition. Levowan performed the Premiere of Hugh's Requiem in 2022.

Stewart MacDougall
Joined in September 2021. Singing has always been a passion from early years in Old St Paul’s Church in Edinburgh, Bristol Choral Society in later years and Plymouth Philharmonic Choir. Ex RN of 46 years and now retired, offering more opportunities to enjoy golf, theatre, caravanning and Plymouth Argyle.
